Poland's National Independence Day Celebration

On 10 November, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi hosted a reception on the occasion of Poland's National Independence Day.

The evening brought together over 500 guests, including representatives from the fields of culture, business, local authorities, and the diplomatic corps. The event provided a unique opportunity to showcase Polish culture, traditions, and cuisine in India.

The program featured a live choir performing the national anthems of India, Poland, and the European Union. Head of Mission Antoni Świtalski delivered a speech highlighting the historic significance of Poland regaining its independence in 1918. He reflected on the resilience and determination of the Polish people and emphasized the importance of international friendship and cooperation. The Embassy was deeply honored by the presence of Chief Guest, Amb. Pooja Kapur, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs of India, whose attendance underscored the strong and growing ties between Poland and India.

Guests also enjoyed traditional Polish cuisine, specially prepared by Chef Łukasz Konik from Poland. The menu included pierogi, pork knuckle, Silesian dumplings, and braised beetroot, accompanied by explanations of the history and stories behind these dishes. A selection of Polish desserts, including cream puffs and apple pie, provided a delightful conclusion to the culinary experience.
