27.08.2025
On 27 August 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in New Delhi hosted the second edition of the strategic dialogue series Shantipath Debates, a platform aimed at fostering exchange between experts, on the topic of global and regional challenges.
The session, titled “Cognitive Wars in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” brought together a carefully selected group of representatives from Indian think tanks, leading academic institutions, and the diplomatic community. Special guests included Dr. Małgorzata Bonikowska, President of the Centre for International Relations Foundation (Poland), and Mr. Nuthan Prasanna, political analyst and expert on information ecosystems (India). The discussion was moderated by Dr. Swasti Rao, European affairs expert and faculty member at O.P. Jindal Global University.
The discussion centered on how AI technologies shape political narratives and affect the functioning of democracies, with a particular focus on the threats posed by disinformation campaigns. Participants explored issues such as manipulation of public opinion, the weakening of institutions, and risks to electoral integrity, while also highlighting the importance of Europe–India cooperation and the exchange of best practices in countering these challenges.
Launched in July this year, the Shantipath Debates series is gaining recognition as a unique platform for dialogue between experts from Poland, India, and the European Union. The next edition will take place on 1 October 2025.
