At the request of the Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council , Mr. Maciej Świrski, a meeting took place between the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda and members of the KRRiT at the Presidential Palace.

In accordance with Article 213(1) of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, the National Broadcasting Council, defending freedom of expression, the right to information and the public interest in broadcasting, appeals to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Donald Tusk, to restore legal order and apply the applicable law in the selection of public media authorities.

As a result of ex officio proceedings, the Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has decided to impose a fine on TVN for interrupting the "Fakty" news service programme with advertising on 23 June 2023.

"One for all – all for one" – this well-known maxim, according to the head of the KRRiT, is to be the foundation of the Warsaw Declaration signed yesterday, uniting the countries of Central Europe in the fight against Kremlin's propaganda. The signatories of the agreement will, among others, support each other in straightening out false information that affects the image of their countries or falsifies history.

Representatives of media regulators in Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Romania, as well as Hungary, Latvia and Lithuania met at the “Stop Disinformation and Russian Propaganda” summit to demonstrate unity in defense of freedom of speech based on reliable and truthful news.
