Bartłomiej Nizioł and the De Valette Chamber Orchestra at Manoel Theatre
04.02.2026
On 4 February 2026, the historic Manoel Theatre hosted the concert "Of Love and Longing,” inaugurating the international chamber music festival DV'Classical, organised by the De Valette Chamber Orchestra. Held under the patronage of the Embassy, the event was a beautiful example of artistic dialogue between Malta and Poland.
The audience enjoyed an outstanding performance by the eminent Polish violinist Bartłomiej Nizioł, accompanied by the De Valette Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Christoph Koncz. The programme featured works by Felix Mendelssohn, Henryk Wieniawski, and Mieczysław Karłowicz, which were warmly received by the audience.
The concert inaugurated the De Valette Chamber Orchestra’s new international festival, DV’Classical, which will present music and artists from different countries each year. The inaugural edition was dedicated to Poland.
Under the direction of Music Director and Concertmaster Carmine Lauri, the festival sets the tone for DV’Classical as an initiative rooted in artistic excellence, dialogue, and shared cultural heritage.
The Embassy extends its sincere gratitude to Music Director Carmine Lauri for his artistic leadership, to Anna Kosińska, Artistic Director, for her vision and commitment to cultural cooperation, and to the Ministry For Culture, Lands And Local Government of Malta for its support of cultural initiatives that strengthen international artistic exchange.
