Poland in Malta

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Malta informs that from March 5th to April 16th at the Valletta Contemporary gallery you can see an exhibition by Wioletta Kulewska, a Polish artist living in Malta. The Embassy took the honorary patronage of the event. We cordially encourage everyone to visit the exhibition.

On January 21st, an online project entitled 'POL (L) AND - where to go for next Erasmus +?' took place. Its recipients were students of the University of Malta. The aim of the project was to encourage young Maltese people to choose one of the Polish universities with which the University of Malta has signed an agreement as the destination under the Erasmus + program.

Today, Poland has started its one-year Chairmanship at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Thus, our country is assuming a greater role in shaping security and stabilisation on the European continent in the spirit of the Helsinki Final Act, whose 50th anniversary we will be celebrating in 2025.

13th December Polish Ambassador to Malta lit a candle in tribute to victims of Martial Law which was imposed 40 years ago in Poland.

On December 11th and 12th Ambassador Tomasz Czyszek visited Gozo. During his stay on the island he met, among others, with the Minister for Gozo - Clint Camilleri.

US President Joe Biden started the Summit for Democracy with the participation of leaders of over 100 countries, including Poland. The meeting takes place in a virtual form. The situation in Belarus and Poland's support for democracy in Belarus are the main topics of President Andrzej Duda's speech at the summit. You can read the speech below.

Ambassador Tomasz Czyszek donated a copy of S. Lem's 'The Cyberiad' to every secondary school library in Malta and Gozo. In this way, the 100th birthday of the Polish writer, celebrated this year, was emphasized on the islands.

On the occasion of the celebrated this year the 100th anniversary of the birth of Stanisław Lem, we cordially invite Polish teenagers living in Malta and their Maltese friends for theatre workshops based on one of the stories from the series 'The Cyberiad' by S. Lem. The workshops will take place on 12 December at 11.00 - 13.00 in NSTS Campus Residence.

On November 12th, there was a screening of the Polish film 'I never cry' directed by Piotr Domalewski. The film was presented to the public as part of the European Film Festival - the first joint project organized by members of the EUNIC Malta cluster, to which on March 26th the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Valletta also joined.
