Meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism with World Championships medallists

On Wednesday, 15 October 2025 at the PGE National Stadium in Warsaw Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki and Secretaries of State at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism met with medallists of the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, the Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Ronse, the Para Fencing World Championships in Iksan, the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore, coaching staff and representatives of the Polish Paralympic Committee.
The meeting was an opportunity to congratulate the members of the Polish national teams on their outstanding results at the world’s main sporting events and to thank them for their efforts.
This is a very important day for us. We can look you straight in the eye and thank you for what you do for our homeland. For the way in which you represent our national colours and show us all what it means to overcome one’s weaknesses and turn them into a great success,
– said Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki.
During the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi the Polish team won as many as 16 medals: eight gold ones, two in silver and six in bronze. Two athletes won two gold medals each: Magdalena Andruszkiewicz (women’s 100 m and 400 m in class T72) and Faustyna Kotłowska (women’s shot put and discus throw in class F64).
The Polish team members brought four silver medals from the Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Ronse.
Our national team also won four medals (three silver ones and one bronze) at the Para Fencing World Championships in Iksan, and four medals (one silver and three bronze ones) and the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore.

The Ministry of Sport and Tourism is constantly increasing the funds for supporting top-level competitive sport for people with disabilities. In 2025, the funding will amount to PLN 67 million.
