17.06.2026The certification programme for handball, volleyball and basketball academies and clubs was the main topic of a press conference attended by Minister for Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki on Wednesday, 17 June in Warsaw. The meeting was also attended by Sławomir Szmal, President of the Polish Handball Federation, Sebastian Świderski, President of the Polish Volleyball Federation and Grzegorz Bachański, President of the Polish Basketball Federation.

11.06.2026Polish tourism is entering a new era of smart data management. The National Centre for Research and Development, in the 8th call for proposals under the INFOSTRATEG programme carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, has preselected two innovative projects for funding. The projects will compete to progress to the next implementation stages. The aim is to develop an advanced AI-based tool to support public administration, businesses and residents in more effective and sustainable management of tourist flows in Poland.

09.06.2026Maja Chwalińska, vice-champion at this year's Roland Garros Grand Slam tournament, was a guest at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism on Tuesday, 9 June. Minister for Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki awarded the Polish player a 12-month sports scholarship in the highest possible amount of 9,600 PLN gross per month. The decision was announced during the Tuesday meeting.

08.05.2026With reference to the decision of the International Olympic Committee, we strongly oppose the full reinstatement of athletes from Belarus to international sports competitions. As long as Minsk continues to support Russia's invasion of Ukraine, no concessions to the aggressors are acceptable. We stand in solidarity with Ukraine. Sport must not be used as a tool for normalising war and propaganda.

06.05.2026At a press breakfast attended by Jakub Rutnicki, Minister for Sport and Tourism, as well as representatives of the football community and the media, programmes implemented by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism were presented. The directions of systemic support to the development of football in Poland were also discussed, with a particular focus on increasing the number of young players training and competing on the pitches in Poland.

28.04.2026A press conference on hosting the 2028 European Athletics Championships was held today at Superauto.pl Silesian Stadium. The event was attended by Piotr Borys, Deputy Minister of Sport and Tourism, Wojciech Saługa, Marshal of Silesian Voivodeship, and Sebastian Chmara, President of the Polish Athletics Federation. The meeting confirmed Poland's readiness to host one of Europe's main sports events.

22.04.2026At the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, a meeting was held with Kamil Stoch, one of the best athletes in the history of Polish winter sports. The event marked the end of his sporting career and provided an opportunity to look back at his great achievements over years and to express appreciation for his contribution to the development and promotion of Polish sport.
