Second edition of the tournament "From Orlik pitch to the Stadium” is behind us. Great emotions at PGE Narodowy

Last Saturday will be remembered for long by young footballers who met at the PGE Narodowy national stadium for the Grand Finals of the tournament called From Orlik pitch to the Stadium. 24 teams competed in the tournament's final matches, refereed by Szymon Marciniak, for the title of Poland's best team in three age groups: U-13, U-14 and U-15. The medals and cups were handed over to the winners by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki.

The pitch on which the day before the Polish national team drew with the Netherlands became an arena of the young footballers’ matches. The finals of the second edition of the tournament From Orlik pitch to the Stadium gathered girls’ teams and boys teams’ from all over Poland, competing in three age categories in the Juniors path (neighbourhood teams and school teams) and the Junior Pro path (football academies and football schools). 

The two teams from each category, that competed at PGE Narodowy, had to go through a long path to get to the finals. They started in early September with the local stage. The competition continued through the regional, voivodeship and macro-regional stages. The last stage was the final round that was held on 13-14 November 2025 at Legia Warszawa club’s training pitches. 

After a fierce competition in the Saturday finals, twelve teams won the title of Polish champion.

The players not only received cups and medals but will also take part in a great adventure: a week-long training camp at the FC Barcelona’s football school La Masia. 120 young players will participate in training sessions led by Spanish coaches and will visit the sports facilities and the capital of Catalonia.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Minister of Sport and Tourism Jakub Rutnicki watched the final matches at the stadium. After a meeting with the young players they appeared on the pitch where, together with the participants of the tournament, they took part in the presentation of football skills. Then, the Prime Minister and the Minister, together with the tournament’s ambassadors Nina Patalon and Szymon Marciniak handed over cups, medals and individual awards to the winning teams’ members. 

In addition to the sports emotions, there was a rich programme of additional attractions on the pitch for the players and the fans. There were activity zones for the young footballers and the audience members. Those interested could personally meet with the programme's ambassadors: Szymon Marciniak, Edyta Litwiniuk, Magdalena Fularczyk, Kacper ‘Qesk’ Misztal and Damian Bąbol. There was also a music part, a concert by TEENZ, a popular group of internet influencers. The hosts of the event were Maja Strzelczyk and Grzegorz ‘Gabor’ Jędrzejewski. They were accompanied by Dariusz ‘Dj Ucho’ Ślęzak, well known to fans from football matches and volleyball matches of Polish national teams, as well as ski jumping competitions. 

The tournament “From Orlik pitch to the Stadium” is a national-level sports project for children and young people. The programme is implemented by “Orły sportu” [Eagles of Sport] foundation and is financed from the state budget’s part administered by the Minister of Sport and Tourism. The strategic partner of the tournament is ORLEN, and PZU is the main sponsor.
