The first meeting of the Tourism Council convened by Secretary of State Ireneusz Raś

On 16 October 2025, Secretary of State Ireneusz Raś convened the first meeting of the Tourism Council established pursuant to regulation no. 12 of the Minister of Sport and Tourism of 18 April 2024.

The nomination letters were ceremoniously presented to the Council Members on 26 September during the ‘Tourism of the Future 2025’ Congress in Kołobrzeg. 

The Tourism Council is composed of the following members:

  • Mr Radosław Fronc
  • Ms Izabela Stelmańska
  • Mr Ireneusz Węgłowski
  • Mr Piotr Henicz
  • Ms Iwona Karolewska
  • Mr Wiesław Czerniec
  • Ms Agnieszka Szymerowska

The first meeting of the Tourism Council was attended, in addition to its members, by Mr Dominik Borek, Director of the Tourism Department of the Ministry and Mr Rafał Szmytke, President of the Polish Tourism Organisation.

The Tourism Council is an advisory and consultative body to the minister responsible for tourism. Its key tasks include analysing systemic solutions suggested for the tourism sector and issuing opinions on such solutions, providing strategic advice and initiating measures in the areas of digitisation, sustainable development and innovation. The Council also actively supports the development of social tourism and takes steps to increase Polish tourism offer’s competitiveness on the international market. 

During the meeting, the Council’s system of operation was discussed, the forms and directions of its activities for the development of tourism were defined in more detail, and the cooperation between the members was strengthened by planning future joint initiatives. 

Secretary of State Ireneusz Raś officially opened the meeting and appointed Prof. Bartłomiej Walas as Chairman of the Tourism Council. During the meeting, the Council members unanimously adopted the Council Operating Rules and agreed on the form of the Council’s future work.
