Meeting of Deputy Minister Bartosz Grodecki with Olivier Onidi, Deputy Director-General of DG HOME

Today (6th October), Deputy Minister Bartosz Grodecki met with Olivier Onidi, Deputy Director-General at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs. The meeting concerned the situation at the EU's external border with Belarus. At the same time, an expert meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and the European Commission.
During the meeting, the European Commission representatives were familiarised with the situation at the Polish section of the EU external border and the measures taken by the Polish government, both in the context of service activities and legislation.
It was pointed out that the actions undertaken by Poland are primarily aimed at ensuring security at the EU land external border.
Moreover, the possibility of blocking the route of illegal migration from third countries was also discussed during the meeting.
