The Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of the Interior and Administration stressed that effective border protection, readmission and returns are indispensable elements of the effective functioning of migration systems of the Member States and of the European Union. Together, they are an effective tool for responding to illegal migration.

The participants of the meeting, i.e., representatives of the Ministries of Interior and border services of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia, analysed the possibilities of overcoming the difficulties encountered. They also talked about ensuring effective return procedures.

This expert conference was the first such meeting of the Visegrad Group and Serbia. The meeting is the result of the Polish initiative launched during the conference of the V4 Group’s Deputy Ministers of Interior on 23 March this year on border affairs and migration policy.
