Poland and the Czech Republic share the views concerning border protection. Our Czech friends are reliable allies

- Minister Marcin Kierwiński pointed out.

I would like to thank the Czech Prime Minister for his solidarity and strong words of support for Poland during the Russian drone attack. Thank you for the donation of three helicopters specialized for downing drones. The only appropriate response to Russia's imperial policy is a show of force

- the Minister of the Interior added.

Cooperation between the Polish and Czech uniformed services

The ministers noted that the cooperation between the Polish and Czech uniformed services is already going very well.  This is exemplified by the joint operation of facilities in Chotěbuz and Kudowa-Słone. The drafted agreement is intended to allow for even better coordination of uniformed services, making combating crime more effective. The work on the document is nearing completion, and it is expected to be signed in the coming weeks.

Borders under special protection

During the meeting, the attendees devoted plenty of time to countering the weaponization of migration.

Poland and the Czech Republic share the opinion on migration. We oppose illegal migration and call for an effective return policy

- the Minister of the Interior and Administration pointed out. Both countries offered a place to live to hundreds of thousands of war refugees from Ukraine, and expect more support from the European Union in this regard.

Minister Marcin Kierwiński also highlighted the measures taken by the Polish government in recent months aimed at protecting the borders. These include the closure of the border with Belarus in connection with the Zapad drills, the introduction of a buffer zone, and the reinstatement of selective border checks along the border with Germany and Lithuania. The new regulations drafted by the Polish authorities have enabled the Border Guard to neutralize drones and restrict air traffic along the Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-Belarusian borders.
