The EU-US ministerial meeting was preceded by a visit to the Polish-Belarusian border by Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk along with Senior Counsellor to the US Department of Homeland Security Robert Law.
On Monday, 2 June, Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk arrived in Połowce (Podlaskie Voivodeship) with Senior Counsellor to the US Department of Homeland Security Robert Law and representatives of the US administration. The Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration and Border Guard officers demonstrated the solutions used by Poland to secure its border with Belarus against irregular migration, which is being used as a tool of hybrid warfare against the European Union by the Belarusian and Russian regimes. Through a series of government interventions, investments in physical and electronic barriers and the daily service of thousands of border guards and soldiers, Poland achieved a 98% success rate in countering attempted irregular border crossings.
