Security in the Baltic Sea region: meeting of ministers for home affairs, EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration and the Executive Director of Frontex

On 19 June (Thursday), the Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak, attended a meeting of ministers for home affairs of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, Finland, Norway and Sweden, the EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner, and the Executive Director of Frontex Hans Leijtens in Tallinn.
The discussion was focused on matters concerning countering external influence operations carried out by hostile states, including foreign information manipulation and interference, acts of sabotage, and hybrid warfare.
In view of the threats we face, cooperation between our countries is crucial. By sharing experiences, we can develop a cohesive strategy to effectively counter foreign hybrid operations and manipulation. Only together can we ensure greater security for our citizens

The meeting, hosted by Estonian Minister of the Interior Igor Taro, was also attended by Lithuanian Minister of the Interior Vladislav Kondratovič, Latvian Minister of the Interior Rihards Kozlovskis, Finnish Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice of the Kingdom of Norway Astri Aas-Hansen, Swedish Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer and EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner. Executive Director of Frontex Hans Leijtens also took part in the talks.
