The Conversation Between Minister Mariusz Kamiński and the British Home Secretary

On Monday (22 November), Minister Mariusz Kaminski held talks with Priti Patel, British Home Secretary. The main topic of the conversation was the situation on the border between Poland and Belarus.

The flags of Poland and Great Britain fill the entire screen, dividing it into two halves.

Minister Priti Patel acknowledged the Polish government's actions in connection with the influx of migrants on the eastern border of the European Union. The Head of the British Ministry of the Interior expressed her appreciation for the officers of the services subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. She also declared the UK's full support, which has already been demonstrated, for example, by the participation of British soldiers in the repair of the temporary fence on the Poland-Belarus border.

The British Home Secretary emphasised her solidarity with Poland in the migration crisis artificially created by the Belarusian regime.

The meeting also touched on Polish-British relations in security and the final agreement of the Joint Threat Assessment agreement.

On Friday (19 November), Deputy Minister Bartosz Grodecki met with representatives of the Council of Europe Pierre-Alanen Fridez, Chair of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons of the RE Parliamentary Assembly and Anne-Mari Virolainen, rapporteur of the report on the instrumentalisation of migration at the border with Belarus.

On Thursday (18 November), Minister Mariusz Kamiński met in Warsaw with Horst Seehofer, Minister of the Interior, Construction and the Homeland of the Federal Republic of Germany. During the conversation, Minister Seehofer thanked the Polish services for securing the eastern border of the European Union and assured solidarity with Poland in the face of the tense situation on the border with Belarus. The Ministers discussed the activities of the services of both countries, emphasising the excellent cooperation on the Poland-Germany border. It mainly concerned measures to combat the smuggling of illegal migrants who have crossed the EU border illegally. The Ministers assured that Polish and German services remain in constant contact with each other.

Also, on Thursday (18 November), Deputy Minister Bartosz Grodecki met with Hermann Feiner, Deputy Head of the Austrian Ministry of the Interior. The conversation concerned the challenges posed by migratory pressures and the agreement on Polish-Austrian Police cooperation.

Meanwhile, on Friday (12 November), Minister Mariusz Kamiński spoke by telephone with the Ministers of the Interior of Germany (Horst Seehofer), Slovenia (Aleš Hojs) and Ukraine (Denys Monastyrski). Each interlocutor expressed their thanks for the actions taken by the Polish Government to protect the European Union’s eastern border and praised the officers of the services subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. The Ministers emphasised their solidarity with Poland in the current migration crisis, artificially created by the Belarusian regime, involving the instrumental use of migrants and the creation of a channel to handle this in Belarus.
