The Minister of the Interior and Administration met with the Swedish Minister of Civil Defence

'I want to thank you for the recent visit to Sweden. It was very important in the context of the new law enacted by Poland. The opportunity to see and experience Swedish solutions concerning civil protection and defence was very important for us', said Minister of the Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak. On Tuesday, 4 March, the Minister of the Interior and Administration met with Carl-Oskar Bohlin, Minister of Civil Defence of the Kingdom of Sweden. Deputy Minister Maciej Duszczyk also participated in the talks.

The meeting was a follow-up to the recent visit of the Polish delegation to Stockholm (on 19 February 2025), during which the officials signed the Joint Statement between the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and the Ministry of Defence of Sweden on cooperation in the field of civil protection and civil defence

In line with the provisions of the Joint Statement, the Ministers continued their talks and exchange of experiences, focusing on matters of security of supply chains and existing practices pertaining to the transfer of aid to Ukraine. The Swedish side was introduced to the tasks that the Government Strategic Reserve Agency performs in the field of providing strategic reserves of food as well as medical and technical products and fuel stocks.

'With the introduction of the Civil Protection and Civil Defence Act, we are also highlighting how important it is for us to build and maintain reserves. The Government Strategic Reserve Agency, which operates under the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, is responsible for ensuring security in that regard',concluded the Polish Minister.
