24.02.2022The Polish Army has been on high alert for several weeks due to the tense situation in Ukraine. Today, in connection with the Russian aggression, Minister Mariusz Błaszczak decided to introduce another level of readiness in dedicated units of operational and territorial defence forces. Soldiers will be required to remain in them. The decisions on leaves and travel duties were also withdrawn. The decision to introduce the next degree of readiness is standard course of action in such situations.

17.02.2022Today we talked about the support given to Ukraine, which is now threatened by aggressive Russian policy, but also about Georgia. I have presented everything that Poland consistently does to support these countries. We want to stop this development of the Russian sphere of influence, so that our neighbouring countries can decide for themselves which alliance they want to join. I emphasized that there is no consent for someone from the outside to decide for Ukraine what alliance it should and should not be in. This is one of the fundamental principles of sovereignty. 07.02.2022“An additional 350 soldiers will be deployed to Poland. They will strengthen the already present 100 soldiers from the engineering troops who, together with Polish soldiers, protect the Polish-Belarusian border.
