ANZAC Day is celebrated in New Zealand on April 25th. On this day, the courage and suffering of people who paid the highest price on the war fronts for their freedom is remembered. This day commemorates the anniversary of the landing of New Zealand and Australian soldiers on the beaches of the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey on April 25, 1915.

A requiem mass to honour the life of Malwina Schwieters was held at the Cathedral of St Patrick in Auckland on March 5, 2022. Mrs Schwieters nee Rubisz, commonly known as Wisia, was a Polish child from Pahiatua, one of the founders of Auckland’s Polish Association, author, history enthusiast, advocate of Polish affairs in New Zealand and simply an outstanding representative of the Polish community in Auckland.

New Books from Poland 2021 programme is aimed at popularising new Polish literature among foreign publishers, translators, and, of course, readers!

Today, Poland has started its one-year Chairmanship at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Thus, our country is assuming a greater role in shaping security and stabilisation on the European continent in the spirit of the Helsinki Final Act, whose 50th anniversary we will be celebrating in 2025.
