The Covenant of Mayors
The Covenant of Mayors is a major European Commission initiative engaging local authorities and citizens in the promotion of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. Signatories of the Covenant commit to meeting and exceeding the objectives of the EU climate and energy policy by reducing CO2 emissions on their territory by at least 20% by 2020.
The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management acts as the National Coordinator of the Covenant of Mayors in Poland under the Partnership Agreement signed with the European Commission's Directorate-General for Energy on 9 October 2014.
NFEP&WM as National Coordinator of the Covenant of Mayors has prepared a folder with basic information on this important initiative of the European Commission, which has been developing in Poland for several years.
