Polish Criminal Registry Report (PCC)

Applying for the Criminal Registry Report

In accordance with legal provisions of the law on the National Criminal Register (art. 7, issued May 24, 2000) every person has the right to seek information on his or her personal data contained in the National Criminal Register.

 

Polish consular services DO NOT take part in the process of requesting the Criminal Registry Report.

 

You can apply for the Criminal Registry Report in the following ways:

  • in person, in Poland at the Information Office of the National Criminal Register in Warsaw or at the Information Points of the National Criminal Register located within district courts;
  • on the basis of a power of attorney given to a third party, in Poland at the Information Office of the National Criminal Register in Warsaw or at the Information Points of the National Criminal Register located within district courts (it is usually not required that this signature be certified by the Consul) - see an example of power of attorney;
  • by post

 

How to apply for Polish Criminal Registry Report by post:

1.     Fill out the request form (check here how to fill out the request form);

2.     Transfer the fee (30 PLN) to the account of Polish Ministry of Justice:

3.     Print out the confirmation of money transfer;

a.     the request form

b.     the confirmation of money transfer

Translation of the Criminal Registry Report

Once you have received the certificate from Poland, you can have it translated in our Consulate. The cost of translation is 50 EUR.

Important: The translation IS NOT done on the same day. In some cases it may take up to 14 days. Please take this into consideration when planning your formalities.

  

You can deliver the document in person or send it by post

 

1.       Requesting a translation in person

 If you prefer to deliver the document in person, you must book an appointment.

 Important: You will only be allowed access to the Consulate if you have an appointment booked.

 In order to book an appointment:

1.       Go to e-konsulat
2.       Select "Country/Region” (Portugal) and "Diplomatic mission” (Lisbon)
3.       In the Menu panel on the left, choose “Legal matters”
4.       Follow the instructions on the screen
5.       Confirm if all your information is correct

You will receive the confirmation of your appointment at the indicated email address.
 

2.       Requesting the translation by post

If you prefer to deliver the document for translation by post:

1.       Make a Money transfer of 55 EUR (50 EUR for translation + 5 EUR for delivery) to the bank account of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland (request the account number)

2.       Print out the confirmation of the money transfer

3.       Send the following documents to the Embassy’s address (Av. das Descobertas 2, 1400-092 Lisboa):

a.      your criminal registry report (original);
b.      the confirmation of money transfer;
c.      additional sheet of paper including your phone number, email address and the address to which the documents should be sent to you.

The documents will be sent to the address indicated by you.

Authentication of the Criminal Registry Report

Portuguese authorities may request that the certificate be authenticated. The authentication of the Criminal Registry Report has the form of Hague Apostile.

Please note that Polish consular services do not apostile documents nor do they "put stamps" on Criminal Registry Report.
