Legalisation
Legalisation is a certification that the document has been issued by a proper office - my means of legalisation the consul certifies the authenticity of a signature and stamp/seal of a foreign official. This allows you to use a foreign official document in Poland.
Legalisation applies to states non-members of the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents of 5 October 1961 (Journal of Laws of 2005, no. 112, item 938).
Polish consul in Abu Dhabi legalises documents issued only in the United Arab Emirates.
Please note! The consul can only legalise originals and official copies of documents. Photocopies and computer printouts cannot be legalised. The documents must be authenticated by the competent local authority before you present them to the consul. In UAE authentication is made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
The consul will refuse to legalise documents without prior superlegalisation.
To make an appointment in a consulate, choose legal issue appointment on the e-Konsulat
Legalisation fee is 130 AED.
The legalisation of single-page documents such as civil status records, school certificates, etc., is carried out immediately on the day of submission at the Embassy. For multi-page documents, due to the need for detailed verification, the processing time is determined on a case-by-case basis and may require a longer completion period. Applicants are informed individually about the expected date of collection of their documents.
If a foreign authority requires legalisation of a Polish document, please read the information available on Polish MFA website.
