On 31st January, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London, organised an event to mark the beginning of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, during which Ambassador Piotr Wilczek presented its priorities.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh organized a gala dinner in recognition of the hard work and dedication of all the Polish teachers in Scotland. Nearly 200 teachers of Polish as well as representatives of Scottish organisations supporting the Polish education and learning Polish in Scotland took part in the event organised on the occasion of the International Polish Education Day in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

On 18 August, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh, in cooperation with the Edinburgh International Festival, organised a reception with the participation of the Minister for Public Finance in the Scottish Government, Ivan McKee. The reception was followed by a concert by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra

The Polish Embassy’s Consular and Polish Diaspora Section prepared an event detailing the possible funding sources for Polish organisations abroad, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships with international institutions.

The Polish Embassy in London hosted a special panel discussion titled “Diplomacy Behind The Frontlines: Governments-In-Exile In Wartime London”, exploring the diverse stories of governments operating away from their homelands during WWII. The event was co-organised with the Centre for Research on the History of the Polish Government-in-Exile at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.

On 29 May, 12 and 19 June 2024, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London hosted a series of open lectures. These events explored the richness of Polish art of pre- and inter-war periods, focusing on the unusual phenomenon of interpreting Japanese motifs.

Infosecurity Europe, the largest conference and trade fair for the cybersecurity sector, took place at the Excel exhibition centre in London on June 4-6. The Polish stand at the event was prepared by the London branch of Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

At the beginning of June, Joanna Mucha, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Education of Poland, visited Scotland. The purpose of the Minister’s visit was to meet with the directors and teachers of local Polish schools and to participate in the Polish diaspora event at the Great Polish Map of Scotland in Eddleston.
