Discussions on the Polish-Uzbek cooperation

Today, the Undersecretary of State Tomasz Nowak discussed with the Governor of the Tashkent Region Zoyir Mirzayev and the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland Amirsaid Agzamkhodjaev on the development of agricultural cooperation and opportunities for increasing the agricultural export to Uzbekistan

Position of Poland

Deputy Minister Adam Nowak reminded about the meeting of the ministers of agriculture of both countries held in January this year, during which the lines of cooperation have been  established – The visit of the Tashkent Region delegation proves that Uzbekistan is interested in the cooperation with Poland also at the regional level – stressed the Undersecretary of State Adam Nowak.

Deputy Minister Nowak affirmed that Poland hopes for further intensification the agricultural export to Uzbekistan. In this context, he pointed out at the increase in the value of export of high-quality poultry meat and offal to Uzbekistan – It is important that the Uzbek consumers trust the Polish food – said the Undersecretary of State.

The Deputy Minister declared also the opportunities for scientific and research cooperation with Uzbekistan.

Position of Uzbekistan

Governor Mirzayev emphasized that the Uzbek authorities look forward to further developing the agricultural cooperation with Poland and strengthening the Polish and Uzbek relationships.

Zoyir Mirzayev appreciated the achievements of the Polish agricultural sector and expressed his hope for continued cooperation in the area of arboriculture, seed production and animal farming.

Polish agri-food export to Uzbekistan

The value of the Polish export to Uzbekistan in 2023 amounted to approx. EU 66.7 million, which marked a growth by 69% compared to 2022. The main exported products included poultry meat and edible offal, chocolate, food preparations containing cocoa and processed or preserved vegetables.
