Today, the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak talked with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Poland, H.E. Nurlan Zhalgasbayev about the prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the agri-food sector, particularly in the context of lifting barriers to the Polish export. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chief Veterinary Officer Paweł Meyer.

On 14 July 2025, on the sidelines of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council, the Ministers from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Poland and Sweden discussed the challenges facing the European Union with regard to the growing number of great cormorants and grey seals in the Baltic Sea region. The meeting was organised by the Minister of Regional Affairs and Agriculture of the Republic of Estonia Hendrik Johannes. Poland was represented by the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak.

- Poland expects full information about the effects of trade agreements with third countries, because farmers are the first to feel the effects of trade liberalisation and increased import of agricultural products - stressed the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski during an extraordinary meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of Poland, Bulgaria, Slovakia and Hungary in Budapest.

Today, the Undersecretary of State Adam Nowak talked with the new Ambassador of Mongolia to Poland Oyundari Navaan-Yunden about the prospects for the development of bilateral relations in the field of agriculture and agri-food trade between Poland and Mongolia.

Today, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark to Poland Jakob Henningsen so as to discuss the summary of the Polish Presidency of the EU Council and the plans of the Danish Presidency in the area of agriculture and fisheries. Denmark, and then Cyprus, are part of the Trio Presidency started by Poland. This means close cooperation of the countries with regard to the implementation of key priorities.

- Poland and Germany agree on the need to maintain a two-pillar approach and a separate budget for the future Common Agricultural Policy, so that the CAP will continue to guarantee food security in Europe - said the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski during a press conference after the meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Community of the Federal Republic of Germany Alois Rainer. The Ministers also discussed the shape of the EU-Mercosur agreement or trade relations with Ukraine.

Today, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Czesław Siekierski was received in Paris by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Annie Genevard. The discussion related to the trade conditions contained in the agreement between the European Union and the Mercosur countries as well as the financing mechanisms of the CAP post-2027.

Generational renewal is essential to sustaining vibrant rural areas and maintaining competitive, sustainable agriculture - this was the key message from EU agriculture ministers during the final day of the informal AGRIFISH Council, focused on the role of young people in transforming European agriculture.
