These are the results of talks conducted by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate during their visit to Bangkok.

On 21 and 22 July 2026, a political consultation between Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs Artur Harazim and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand was held in Bangkok.

On behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD), the delegation was attended by Director of the International Cooperation Department Blanka Gołębiowska and on behalf of the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate (CVI) – Director of the Office for European Union and Foreign Cooperation Jolanta Orlińska-Krupa.

As part of the visit to Thailand, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bangkok attended, among others, a meeting at the Department of Livestock Development (DLD).

The most important arrangements

The talks concerned primarily the opportunities for exporting Polish beef to the Thai market. The Thai party welcomed the Polish party’s request to extend the system privileges with respect to the export of beef. As a result, export authorisations for 11 Polish beef plants have been extended – pending an audit to be conducted by the competent Thai services – and four new plants have been approved for export.

They also discussed a possibility of recognising by the Thai party the regionalisation implemented in Poland – in connection with the occurrence of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and African swine fever (ASF) – these issues remain the subject of further analyses on the part of Thailand.

Representatives of MARD, CVI and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Bangkok also met with the European Union Delegation in Bangkok to discuss the issues of access to the Thai market for animals and animal products.
