Minister Stefan Krajewski met with the Polish community and representatives of the food industry in New York

During a visit to New York, connected with the participation in the Summer Fancy Food Show fair, Minister Stefan Krajewski met with representatives of the Polish community in the USA at the Polish and Slavic Center in Brooklyn. In the evening, he also participated in a meeting with representatives of the Polish and European organic food sector. The talks concerned the promotion of Poland, the development of economic cooperation and the possibility of increasing the presence of Polish food on the American market.
– I am glad that the Polish community in New York operates in such a dynamic manner. Thank you for cultivating Polish traditions and maintaining ties with Poland. One of the elements of our identity are also culinary traditions that are inextricably linked with Polish agriculture and food – said Minister Stefan Krajewski.
Talks with the Polish community
The meeting was held at the Polish and Slavic Center in Brooklyn, which has been supporting the Polish community living in New York for more than 50 years. The institution conducts social, educational and cultural activities, organises assistance for immigrants and implements programmes for children, adolescents and seniors.
During the meeting, the Minister talked about cooperation with the Polish community and about the possibilities of further strengthening ties with Poland. He also highlighted the importance of the Polish community in the United States for the promotion of language, culture and national identity.
The Minister also presented the situation of the Polish agri-food sector. He reminded that in the last 20 years the export value of Polish food had increased tenfold and in 2025 it reached a record-breaking level of more than EUR 58 billion. He pointed out that Polish products were present on the increasing number of markets, and the United States was one of the most important export destinations outside the European Union.
Meeting with industry representatives
In the evening, the Minister participated in a meeting with representatives of the Polish and European organic food sector, held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York.
The event was attended by representatives of producers, exporters and trade partners from the American market. The talks focused on business cooperation, trends on the organic food market and opportunities to increase sales of Polish products in the United States. The meeting was also conducive to establishing new business contacts and talks with potential partners from the American market.
– Poland focuses on the production of safe food of high-quality. Thanks to the work of our farmers and processors, Polish products enjoy the trust of consumers and their export is growing year by year. We can all be ambassadors of Polish food in the United States – emphasised the Minister.
Krajewski also stressed that the Ministry of Agriculture supported activities aimed at increasing the presence of Polish products on foreign markets and was open to cooperation with entrepreneurs interested in the development of export.
The American market is of great importance for the Polish export
The United States is one of the most important markets for Polish agri-food products outside the European Union. In 2025, the value of agri-food export to the USA amounted to EUR 838.46 million. Poland exports mainly chocolate and cocoa-containing products, bread and confectionery as well as fish and fish products.
