The participants of the Poland-Texas Young Farmer Exchange Program 2026 held a meeting with Deputy Minister Adam Nowak in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. While in Poland, they will gain knowledge on how the domestic agriculture operates, visit the sector-supporting institutions and agricultural holdings. The solutions related to retention and water management in agriculture draw particular interest of the participants.

Today, the Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak attended the opening of the International Agricultural Exhibition BATA AGRO 2026 in Stara Zagora. During the visit, he took in the Polish national stand and had a conversation with the representatives of the companies promoting the Polish machinery and technologies for agriculture. The discussions with the management of the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture will be held tomorrow.

The fertiliser market and EU agricultural trade with third countries were the major topics of Minister Stefan Krajewski's talks at the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) meeting in Brussels.

Higher prices of fertilisers, the effects of drought and spring frost as well as trade-related agricultural issues - the EU Ministers of Agriculture are debating in Brussels. A monthly meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council (AGRIFISH) has commenced. The Polish delegation is chaired by Minister Stefan Krajewski.

- The agricultural sector is of great economic and social importance for both Poland and Ukraine and cooperation between our countries in this area is one of the key aspects of mutual relations - said Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak during his visit to Kyiv on 21-22 May. The Deputy Minister participated in the 11th meeting of the Polish-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation in Kyiv and met with the Ukrainian media. The visit was an opportunity to discuss the sensitivities in mutual relations and the prospects of cooperation.

The future of the Common Agricultural Policy, food security and cooperation between Poland and Hungary in the field of agriculture were the major topics of the meeting between Minister Stefan Krajewski and the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Hungary Szabolcs Bona. The talks were held in Warsaw on the occasion of the official visit of Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar to Poland.

Increasing the export of Polish food and the wider opening of the Brazilian market to products from Poland were the major topics of the visit paid by the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to Brazil. The talks were also attended by representatives of the General Veterinary Inspectorate and the Main Inspectorate of Plant Health and Seed Inspection.

On 19 May 2026, Secretary of State Małgorzata Gromadzka met with the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk to discuss opportunities and vulnerabilities in mutual relations, particularly in the context of the competitiveness of the agricultural sectors in the two countries. Also the representatives of industry organisations from both countries participated in the visit.

Poland wants to accelerate the opening of the Korean market for beef and increase the food export to Asia. Today, following the April visit to Seoul as part of the official delegation accompanying Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Minister Stefan Krajewski talked about the possibilities of trade cooperation with the Republic of Korea with the importers of meat from that country and the representatives of the Polish meat industry, veterinary services and KOWR.

Secretary of State Jacek Czerniak attended the 35th session of the Regional Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) for Europe, which was held on 11-12 May 2026 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Deputy Minister Czerniak - on behalf of the Cypriot Presidency - presented the collective demands of all 27 EU Member States. This highlights the strong position and trust that Poland enjoys in the European structures.
