Nuremberg: Polish national stand at the BIOFACH 2025 fair

On 10-12 February 2025, the Secretary of State Stefan Krajewski attended the BIOFACH fair in Nuremberg. The Deputy Minister participated in the official opening ceremony of the fair bringing together certified organic food and organic farming producers from all over the world and ceremonially opened the Polish stand organised by the National Support Centre for Agriculture.

Polish national stand

At the Polish stand, entrepreneurs from the organic food and beverage sector and the Polish Chamber of Organic Food presented their offer.

– I am glad to see that Polish organic food enjoys great recognition here. This confirms its high quality and competitiveness in international markets – said Deputy Minister Krajewski.

At the Polish stand, among others, fresh and frozen fruit and vegetables, freeze-dried and dried fruit, fruit powders, juices, jams, honey, bee products, fresh carp and carp products, cereal products (buckwheat, millet, corn), legume products, pasta, tea, herbs and spices, coffee and sweets were promoted.

– Our objective is to improve the profitability of agricultural production and system solutions empowering producers in the food supply chain and to strengthen the competitiveness of the EU agricultural sector – stressed the Polish Deputy Minister of Agriculture.

Secretary of State Stefan Krajewski also talked with the Polish exhibitors about the challenges of the organic farming sector and the opportunities of support from the Ministry.

– I am convinced that the presence of Polish exhibitors at the BIOFACH fair will result in even greater recognition of Polish brands in the German and European markets and will allow to attract customers also from other regions of the world.

Talks with the German party

At the Polish stand, Deputy Minister Stefan Krajewski greeted the Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Ophelia Nick. The meeting was an opportunity to talk about Polish-German cooperation, particularly in the field of organic farming.

Participation in the panel entitled IFOAM Organics Europe Policy Day 2025

Deputy Minister Stefan Krajewski also participated in the discussion panel entitled “Shaping the future of agriculture in the EU and beyond: Aligning sustainability with farmer support and competitiveness”, as part of the IFOAM Organics Europe Policy Day 2025. The panel was organised by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements IFOAM Organics Europe. Minister Krajewski presented the priorities of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU in the field of agriculture and food.

– We want farmers to be the subject of EU policies. Our priority is dialogue and listening to the arguments of rural communities – stressed the Secretary of State.

Deputy Minister Krajewski also stressed the need to promote a competitive, sustainable and resilient agricultural sector.

– It is necessary to empower farmers in critical supply chains and support the viability of rural areas. Therefore, the future CAP should strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of European agriculture and foster rural development – highlighted the Secretary of State and added that it was also important to simplify and properly finance the CAP and prepare it for the future enlargement of the European Union.

About the BIOFACH fair

The BIOFACH fair in Nuremberg has been held annually since 1990. This is the largest and most important organic food fair in the world. Each year, the event attracts more and more exhibitors and visitors. The BIOFACH fair is not only an opportunity to present novelties and promote organic products, but also to exchange experiences and knowledge between exhibitors.

Last year, 2,550 exhibitors from 94 countries presented their products during the fair, and the fair was visited by about 35,000 visitors from 128 countries. Every year, this fair also enjoys great interest on the part of Polish entrepreneurs.
