Working arrangements before AGRIFISH

These were the working arrangements before the Monday meeting of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Brussels, chaired by Belgium for the first half of the year. David Clarinval is also the current President of the EU Agriculture and Fisheries Council.

On agricultural protests at the Council meeting

The Ministers discussed the topics to be discussed at the following meeting in Brussels, including the current crisis situation in the agricultural sector and the need for a strong systemic response to those problems. They referred to the ongoing protests of farmers in many EU Member States and the demands regarding the increase in the profitability of agricultural production, simplification of the CAP, lifting strict environmental requirements, as well as the excessive opening of the EU market to agricultural products from Ukraine.
