Polish food strengthens its position on the Brazilian market. A delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development talked about trade cooperation when in Brazil

Increasing the export of Polish food and the wider opening of the Brazilian market to products from Poland were the major topics of the visit paid by the delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to Brazil. The talks were also attended by representatives of the General Veterinary Inspectorate and the Main Inspectorate of Plant Health and Seed Inspection.

The visit was a continuation of talks with the Brazilian administration, which were initiated by Minister Stefan Krajewski during last year’s visit to Brazil. The talks focused mainly on the wider opening of the Brazilian market to the import of agri-food products from Poland.

The delegation met with the representatives of the Brazilian administration responsible for veterinary and phytosanitary matters. The Ministry’s representatives also participated in the APAS Show 2026 fair in São Paulo.

Talks about the export of food

The talks with Deputy Minister of Trade and International Relations Augusto Billim were held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil held . The meeting concerned agri-food cooperation and the possibility of increasing the export of Polish food to the Brazilian market.

The representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development pointed to the large deficit in trade with Brazil and the need for the wider opening of the market for products from Poland. They also stressed the growing interest in the Brazilian market among Polish producers of food.

The Ministry’s representatives also discussed trade relations with Brazil with the European Union’s Ambassador to Brazil Marian Schuegraf.

APAS Show 2026 fair

The official opening of the Polish national stand at the APAS Show 2026 fair was held in São Paulo. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development prepared a stand under the slogan “Poland tastes good”.

The offer is presented by 13 Polish companies. The products include, among others, milk products, cereal products and sweets.

The APAS Show fair is one of the largest food industry events in Latin America. Every year, the fair brings together producers and distributors of food, representatives of retail chains and importers from many countries. For Polish companies, it constitutes an opportunity to establish new business contacts and promote products on the South American market.

The Ministry’s representatives indicated that the participation in the fair supported the promotion of Polish food and helped companies develop sales on foreign markets. Polish food enjoys recognition due to its high quality, safety of production and taste.

Trade

In 2025, the export of Polish agri-food products reached the record value of EUR 58.4 million. To Brazil, Poland exports mainly malt, pastries, chocolate, sweets and preserves.

Brazil has a significant advantage in bilateral trade. It results mainly from the large import of soya meal and oilcakes used in the production of feedstuffs for livestock.
