Topics addressed

The purpose of the meeting was, among other things, to review the visit paid by Deputy Prime Minister Henryk Kowalczyk to Tokyo on 26–27 September 2022. The interlocutors referred to the constructive meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Henryk Kowalczyk with the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out the intensive contacts between the representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development with Japanese partners which took place recently in Warsaw, including, among others, the meeting of Secretary of State Ryszard Bartosik with beef importers from Japan.

Another important topic of the meeting was the issue of enhancing access of Polish food, among others, poultry meat and bilberries, to the Japanese market.

Polish food exports to Japan

Japan is an important partner of Poland in the trade in agri-food products. In 2021, the value of our exports to Japan reached EUR 95.2 million. This country is the second largest importer of Polish beef among non-EU countries (right after Great Britain).
