16.09.2025

On 16 September 2025, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Jacek Czerniak met with a delegation of Chinese deputies, headed by the chairman of the China-Poland Friendship Group and the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), Du Jiahao. The meeting was held as part of the intensification of cooperation in the field of agriculture, and was another important event that week, stressing the importance of the strategic partnership between Poland and China.

Main

The major objective of the talks was to summarise the existing, intense high-level contacts between representatives of the Polish and Chinese authorities, as well as to exchange views on the possibilities of further development of cooperation in the agri-food sector. Minister Czerniak mentioned how important, in the history of Polish-Chinese bilateral relations, was the meeting between the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski and the Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of the PRC Zhao Zenglian, held the previous day, on 15 September 2025, at the seat of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

– The signing of the agreement on the conditions for applying regionalisation in the export of poultry meat to China implements the findings from the meeting which was held by the heads of our states in June 2024 and which I attended – said Minister Czerniak.

– This event makes the comprehensive strategic partnership between Poland and China really meaningful – he added.

The meeting with Chairman Du Jiahao was also an opportunity to exchange experiences on supporting agricultural development. The Chinese delegation was particularly interested in Polish achievements, especially in the context of modern methods and solutions supporting the development of the agricultural sector. The members of the delegation also shared valuable information about the achievements of Chinese agriculture and the measures taken for the purpose of its modernisation.

The programme of the visit of the delegation from the National People’s Congress also included a visit to the Mazowiecki Agricultural Advisory Centre, which was held on 15 September 2025.
