Talks on Polish-Moroccan cooperation in the agri-food sector

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski met with Chargé d'affaires a.i. of the Republic of Poland in the Kingdom of Morocco Tomasz Orłowski. The meeting was an opportunity to summarise the visit of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests of the Kingdom of Morocco Ahmed El Bouari and the accompanying delegation to Poland. The visit was held on 15-17 September. Today's discussion also focused on the prospects of intensifying Polish-Moroccan relations in the coming year.
Summary of the visit of the Moroccan delegation
Minister Stefan Krajewski thanked for the support of the Embassy in Rabat in preparing the stay of the Moroccan Minister of Agriculture in Poland. He stressed that the involvement of the Polish institution had been crucial for the smooth course of the visit and allowed for fruitful bilateral talks.
The head of the Ministry also assured about the readiness of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and supervised entities to continue long-term cooperation with the Moroccan party both in terms of trade, but also in terms of science and research.
Prospects for development of bilateral cooperation
Ambassador Tomasz Orłowski pointed to the extensive prospects of development of contacts in the agri-food sector resulting from the strategic position of Morocco in the context of activities carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture on the African continent. He stressed that Morocco was a market with great potential and, at the same time, faced serious challenges related to climate change.
Polish investments in Morocco prove that Polish business is ready to implement innovative projects on foreign markets.
Results of the Polish agri-food export to Morocco
The export of agri-food products to Morocco in 2024 amounted to EUR 67.8 million (a decrease by about 49%, from EUR 135 million in 2023). We exported mainly wheat and meslin; bread, pastry, cakes and biscuits as well as condensed milk and cream. In the period of 6 months in 2025, the agri-food export to Morocco reached a value of nearly EUR 26.8 million.
