Certificate entitling to carry arms and ammunition through the territory of the Republic of Poland
Where to apply?
You will obtain the certificate at the Polish consular office competent for your place of residence (Ppease visit the section "Embassy & Consulates" for contact information and opening hours of the consular offices of Poland in Canada).
Please note that after obtaining a certificate allowing the transport of weapons and ammunition through the territory of the Republic of Poland you will be obliged to present this certificate to the Border Guard and have it stamped to confirm the crossing of the border.
Please note, that the citizens of the EU Member States who hold the European firearms pass, are not obliged to hold this certificate.
Do I have to apply in person?
You can submit the documents personally or through an authorised representative.

What documents do I need to submit?
Please prepare:
- identity document,
- permit to possess weapons,
- weapon registration card,
- information on the amount of ammunition, the kind and model of cartridge.
Inform the consul about the intended entry and exit date of the territory of Poland and the places where you intend to cross the border.
How much does it cost?
The fee is 90 CAD.
The fees must be paid at the office counter when submitting the application. The Consular and Polish Diaspora Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ottawa and the Consulates General of the Republic of Poland in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver kindly remind applicants that consular fees are accepted only in the form of cash, money order or certified bank check issued to: Embassy of Republic of Poland in Ottawa, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Montreal, Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Toronto or Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver. Personal checks are not accepted. Additionally, Consulates General in Montreal and Toronto accept debit and credit cards (in Toronto, except American Express).
What is the waiting time?
Consul issues the certificates without undue delay, not later than 14 days from the filing date.
How to collect the documents?
Personally. You can also apply to have the documents delivered by mail if you pay the postage.
How to appeal?
If the certificate is refused, the consul will issue a decision. You can appeal to the Minister of Foreign Affairs within 7 days. The appeal is lodged through the consul who had issued the decision.
