21.04.2021

Wiceminister klimatu i środowiska Ireneusz Zyska

As Deputy Minister Zyska emphasised, the Ministry of Climate and Environment sees a large involvement of cities in the development of green hydrogen.

The success of the call for applications under the Green Public Transport programme indicates that the Polish cities show a huge interest in buying zero-emission public transport rolling stock, including mainly hydrogen buses. We want to develop these technologies, which is why we plan to launch a second call for proposals within this programme -

he said.

Deputy minister of climate and environment also pointed out that Poland has the chance to become a leader in the domestic development of hydrogen.

The industrial and scientific potential in Poland gives great hope for the development of hydrogen technologies. The Ministry of Climate and Environment is trying to create the best conditions for investment, hence the intention letter signed on 7 July 2020 to establish a partnership for the construction of a hydrogen economy. The letter was initially signed by 17 partners, and today there already are as many as 130 of them-

he said.

During the meeting, deputy minister also added that the ministry is currently carrying out advanced work on three legislative acts:

  • Amendment to the Act on electromobility and alternative fuels;
  • Amendment to the Act on the fuel quality monitoring and control system;
  • Ordinance of the Minister of Climate and Environment on technical requirements for hydrogen stations.
