The 2030 National Environmental Policy – the Development Strategy in the Area of the Environment and Water Management
On 16th July 2019, the Council of Ministers adopted the 2030 National Environmental Policy (PEP2030). PEP2030 became the most important strategic document in the area of the environment and water management.
The role of PEP2030 is to ensure Poland's ecological safety and high quality of life for all residents. In the system of strategic documents it specifies the mid-term Strategy for Responsible Development to 2020 with a perspective to 2030.
PEP2030 will be the basis for investing European funds from the financial perspective 2021-2027. PEP2030 also supports the implementation of Poland's objectives and commitments at the international level, including those of the EU and the UN, especially in the context of the EU's climate and energy policy objectives to 2030 and the sustainable development goals (SDGs) included in Agenda 2030.
