The Polish Council of Ministers recognized the environmental technology verification as an instrument for supporting sustainable development and stimulating eco-innovation. wspierania zrównoważonego rozwoju i stymulowania rozwoju ekoinnowacji.

In the „Strategy for Responsible Development for the period up to 2020 (including the perspective up to 2030)”, ETV has been included as a strategic project. Moreover, it has been implemented within the „2030 National Environmental Policy – the Development Strategy in the Area of the Environment and Water Management”.

The government considers Poland ready for implementing the full-scale ETV Programme:

• The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) initiated a financial instrument called „Popularization of verified technologies within the ETV system”.
• The ISO 14034:2016 standard entitled: Environmental management – Environmental technology verification (ETV) was adopted and published as a Polish standard.
• A network of Verification Bodies was established.
