First official meeting of the Youth Climate Council

25.09.2020

“I hope that the YCC will lead to constructive dialogue and active participation of youth for climate protection and sustainable development. Together, we will create a climate policy for Poland” said the Minister of Climate Michał Kurtyka during the first official meeting of the Youth Climate Council, which took place on 25 September 2020 in Warsaw.

As the Minister pointed out, the work of the YCC will be a time for taking initiatives and implementing ambitious plans concerning shaping public policies in the areas of climate and energy and making them a reality.

“I'd like these to be regular meetings, which will allow us to get an in-depth understanding of the topics we are going to be dealing with. Working in the Council is not just about attending meetings – most of the work will be done in between when you work on your projects and common objectives” he said.

“We will also involve you in the tasks concerning climate protection, which are already being carried out. A representative of the Youth Climate Council will be, among others, a member of the Competition Jury in the “School with Climate” competition. We want the scope of this activity to be very broad,” he added.
