Minister Anna Moskwa’s visit to COP26 climate summit in Glasgow

Minister for Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, held a series of bilateral meetings during her visit to the ongoing COP26 in Glasgow. She also met with representatives of trade unions and youth councils.

During her two-day (8 to 9.11.2021) stay at COP26 UN climate summit in Glasgow, Minister Anna Moskwa participated in EU ministerial coordination meetings.

The head of the Climate and Environment Ministry also held numerous bilateral meetings with her counterparts from Slovakia, Germany, Hungary and France. During these meetings, the most topical issues on the global and EU agenda were addressed, including the problem of rising energy prices.

Minister Anna Moskwa also met with representatives of the Youth Councils - Climate and Environment (MRK and MRE) present at COP26. The Minister learnt the plans of further development and activities of both Councils. The topic of sharing the experiences of both Youth Councils on the international forum was also discussed. Minister Moskwa announced that she would like to continue the dialogue with young people in a larger group after her return to Warsaw.

Another item on the agenda of the Minister for Climate and Environment was a meeting with trade union representatives: National Secretariat of Mining and Energy NSZZ "Solidarność" in Katowice, the foreign office of KSGiE NSZZ "Solidarność", the Trade Union of Miners at KWK Bogdanka and the Agreement of Trade Unions "KADRA" in Katowice.

Minister Moskwa also spoke at an event accompanying COP 26 entitled Ministerial Climate and Clean Air Coalition.

On behalf of Poland, I would like to express support for the Climate and Clean Air Coalition 2030 Strategy. It is necessary to maintain synergies of measures aimed at combating climate change and improving air quality. They are crucial for our health and for our life,
