Among the topics raised by the two politicians were the issues of Polish-Dutch cooperation in the field of energy and climate, including current issues on the European Union agenda.

The process of reaching a consensus on the new EU climate target for 2030 is a key issue for Poland, said Minister Michał Kurtyka during the meeting.

During the meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Poland, Minister Kurtyka pointed out the importance of adaptation to climate change in the context of the Climate Adaptation Summit organised by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands in January 2021, in which he will participate.

We recognise the importance of adaptation for the global response to climate change. The EU takes action to adapt to the adverse effects of climate change and to increase flexibility and support partner countries in doing the same he added.

Other topics tackled during the meeting included cooperation in the field of electromobility, hydrogen technology, water management and retention, as well as issues related to the area of offshore wind energy, where cooperation with the Netherlands will be strengthened in the coming months.

The 30th edition of the Utrecht Conference is slated to take place on 18 November – a regular meeting forum for representatives of the Polish and Dutch administrations, during which energy and climate issues will be raised as one of the key topics of the meetings.
