The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management supports the restoration of degraded areas
06.08.2020
The National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management has opened a call for proposals for funding the restoration of usable or ecological properties of areas degraded by human activity and for closing and restoration of landfills or extractive waste treatment facilities.
The continuous call for proposals will start on 17 August this year and will remain open until 30 June 2021. The funding in the form of preferential loans up to 100% of eligible costs will be granted to local government units and their associations, public entities acting on behalf of the State Treasury, natural persons conducting business activity, state enterprises and commercial law companies.
The following costs may be eligible for co-financing by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management as land reclamation costs: removal of waste, remediation, corrective action in the event of environmental damage, reshaping of functions or preparation for new functions.
Reclamation of degraded areas is the first part of the “Protection of Earth Surface” programme implemented between 2015-2030 by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management with a budget of PLN 110 million. The aim of the programme is to reduce the negative impact on the environment and to restore the areas degraded by reclamation, including remediation, together with waste disposal.
