Poland in Denmark

A presentation of the Polish and Danish game development industries, success stories from both markets, investment opportunities and trends, and support from industry and government institutions were presnted during the webinar held on April 29 as part of the Nordic Game Jam festival.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland, including the Consular Section, will be closed on 14, 15 and 18 April 2022.

During the Historiske Dage 2022, participants of the festival learned the story of Captain Witold Pilecki, and Lone and Lucjan Masłocha, Danish-Polish heroes of resistance movement during II World War.

Embassy of the Republic of Poland issued a statement as an answer to the article of Politiken titled "Racism, rape and fear of human trafficking: Poland's border management triggers harsh criticism" from 22 March. The statement has been issued in English and Danish.

On the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance for Poles Saving Jews under German Occupation, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen commemorated Polish heroes of World War II who risked their lives to help those in need.

Inspiring examples of Danish-Polish cooperation in the sphere of cinematography, film music and sound were presented as part of the two-day cultural event “The Sound of Danish-Polish Film” (”Lyden af dansk-polsk film").

On 15 March 2022, Deputy Minister Szynkowski vel Sęk visited Copenhagen. The aim of the meetings was to discuss the impact of Russian aggression against Ukraine, work out further ways to support the country and its citizens fleeing from war, including coordination of humanitarian aid. The consultations also covered energy security of our region and Europe. The deputy minister also met with representatives of Polish community organisations in Denmark.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Copenhagen provides the following factual information about the Russia’s war, Polish humanitarian efforts on the border and Poland’s support to Ukraine.

The Polish Home Army was among the largest underground armies that challenged Nazi Germany. As opposed to other such large forces operating in the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia, it was also the only one which fought for genuine freedom and democracy.

Today, Poland has started its one-year Chairmanship at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Thus, our country is assuming a greater role in shaping security and stabilisation on the European continent in the spirit of the Helsinki Final Act, whose 50th anniversary we will be celebrating in 2025.
