Our country is an attractive place to invest. Despite the pandemic we are recording a stable growth of projects within the investment support instruments. This is indicated by the data we receive from the Polish Investment Zone. It shows that in comparison to the end of November last year, in terms of the number of projects we recorded a growth of 59% y/y. In the case of investment value we have an 86% increase and in the number of new workplaces - an increase of 125%.

- said the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Technology Grzegorz Piechowiak.

While compared to the same period before the pandemic, i.e. from the beginning of January to the end of November 2019, there was an increase of 53% in the number of projects, an increase of 48% in the value of investments, and an increase of 79% in the number of new jobs

PIZ's excellent balance sheet

The activity of Polish companies from the SME sector within the Polish Investment Zone is increasing with each passing month. During the first eleven months of this year their share in the number of investment projects reached 65%. This is exactly the same as for the whole of 2020.

From the beginning of 2021 until the end of November, within the framework of the PIZ, 470 decisions were issued to support investments (only in November 57 decisions were issued) with a total value of 20 billion PLN (1.7 billion PLN in November) with a simultaneous declaration of creating 10,519 new jobs (579 new jobs were declared in November).

From the beginning of 2021 until the end of November, in the three largest Special Economic Zones: Katowice SEZ, Kostrzyńsko-Słubicka SEZ and TSSE Euro-park "Wisłosan" - as many as 139 projects have been launched for a total of PLN 8.5 billion. This is a total of 30% of investment projects so far and a total of 43% of the value of all investments that have been launched in the area under the PIZ this year.

On the other hand, since September 2018, i.e. since the beginning of the PSI, until the end of November 2021, a total of 1,277 investment decisions have been issued with a total value of PLN 56.3 billion. During this time, Polish and foreign investors have declared the creation of 25,257 new jobs.

PIZ's genesis

The Polish Investment Zone was established under the Act of 10 May 2018 on supporting new investments. PIZ is a natural evolution of the Special Economic Zones instrument, offering access to tax exemptions for investments across the country. From 1 January 2019, new investments can already be located only within the PIZ. However, the companies managing the Special Economic Zones play a key role in the PSI system - they issue decisions on supporting new investments and manage its individual parts.
