Poland supports businesses interested in Ukraine’s reconstruction

Minister Andrzej Domański opened the Polish national stand, where institutions operating under the Team Poland brand presented their activities. He stressed that coordinated action by the public administration and development institutions is intended to facilitate Polish companies’  entry into the Ukrainian market and increase their participation in reconstruction projects.

Poland is an active and responsible partner supporting Ukraine. Today, our task is to create the best possible conditions for Polish businesses to participate in the reconstruction of the Ukrainian economy. We have the experience, expertise and potential needed to deliver these projects

– emphasised the Minister.

During the conference, Minister Domański recalled that in recent months institutions operating within Team Poland had significantly expanded the instruments supporting Polish companies active in Ukraine. An agreement enabling Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego to operate in Ukraine has entered into force, BGK is implementing further instruments financed under the Ukraine Facility, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency is organising economic missions for businesses, and the Export Credit Insurance Corporation has launched new solutions to facilitate business activity on the Ukrainian market.

Ukraine’s reconstruction requires a strong private sector

During a meeting with Ukrainian Minister of Economy Oleksii Sobolev, Minister Andrzej Domański stressed that Ukraine’s reconstruction would be possible above all through the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of new jobs.

The opening discussion of the business section of URC2026 focused on increasing private-sector involvement in the country’s reconstruction, making use of European Union financial instruments and creating conditions conducive to investment. The ministers also discussed Poland’s experience of economic transformation and integration with the European Union.

Poland supports the modernisation of the Ukrainian economy with its experience

During the panel ‘Unlocking Ukraine's Economic Potential: A Strategic Vision for a Business-Led Recovery’, Minister Andrzej Domański presented Poland’s experience of economic transformation and European integration.

He pointed out that Poland’s economic success had been built on stable public finances, openness to trade and investment, stronger state institutions and support for entrepreneurship. He recalled that in the two decades since joining the European Union, Poland had advanced into the ranks of the EU’s largest economies.

The Minister highlighted the role of financial instruments supporting investment in Ukraine. Thanks to BGK’s activities and the solutions offered by KUKE, Polish and international companies can implement projects more effectively in areas such as energy, logistics, industry and the dual-use sector.

European instruments for Ukraine’s reconstruction

An important event during the conference was the launch of the Flagship Fund – a new fund supporting private investment in Ukraine’s reconstruction. The European Commission has allocated EUR 160 million for this purpose from the Ukraine Investment Framework, while Member States, including Poland through BGK, are providing first-loss capital to help mobilise a multiple of this amount in private investment.

Minister Andrzej Domański stressed that the effective reconstruction of Ukraine requires cooperation between public administration, financial institutions and businesses, and that Poland is ready to play an active role in supporting this process.

State resilience and new technologies

On the second day of the conference, the Minister also took part in a workshop on the use of data and new technologies to build state resilience. The discussion focused on the growing role of cooperation between public administration, the private sector and innovation communities in developing modern solutions for security and economic reconstruction.

The Ukraine Recovery Conference is the leading international forum dedicated to Ukraine’s reconstruction. This year’s edition brought together representatives of governments, international organisations, financial institutions and businesses from around the world, who worked jointly on solutions supporting the long-term development and modernisation of the Ukrainian economy.
