“In the first three months of 2021, 96 decisions were issued under the PIZ to support investments totalling over PLN 3.5 billion. This will result in nearly 4,000 new jobs,” emphasised Grzegorz Piechowiak, deputy head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology and government representative for foreign investment.

The review of the objectives of the National Reconstruction Plan and the discussion on the possibilities offered by the programme to the Polish economy are the main topics of today’s plenary session of the Social Dialogue Council, attended by Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development, Labour and Technology, Jarosław Gowin, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology, Olga Semeniuk, as well as social partners.

Reforms in the area of digital and green economy, RES installations made by energy communities, as well as labour market changes are key issues raised at the initiative of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development, Labour and Technology, Jarosław Gowin, during the public consultation of the elements of the National Reconstruction Plan. Representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, Labour and Technology took part in consultations of selected projects of the National Reconstruction Plan. The establishment of the NRP is a condition for our country to use the resources from EU Reconstruction Fund, the budget of which reflects EUR 750 billion, and of which Poland is one of the largest beneficiaries. The consultation was held from 1 March to 2 April 2021.

The analysis of investment opportunities in Poland was the main topic of the conversation between the Deputy Minister of Development, Labour and Technology Grzegorz Piechowiak with representatives of the International Group of Chambers of Commerce (IGCC), which comprises 16 chambers of commerce. The meeting was held on the initiative of the Belgian Chamber of Commerce, which holds the six-month presidency in this organisation.

The power industry (including hydrogen technologies), infrastructure, pharmacy and the automotive industry – these are prospective areas in which Poland wants to develop strategic co-operation with the Empire of Japan. On Wednesday 24th March, Robert Tomanek, Sub-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Development, Labour and Technology, talked on that subject to Akio Miyajima, Ambassador of Japan to Poland.

"We must say this clearly: our space requires protection. The current act regulating spatial planning issues was adopted 18 years ago. Now, it no longer corresponds to today’s needs. We have started work on a spatial planning reform,’ said Minister Anna Kornecka during today’s press conference. The reform was entered into the draft National Reconstruction Plan.

In connection with the integration of the industrial defence sector in the European Union, the implementation of the European Defence Fund (EDF) will start in 2021. For this purpose, a special group has been established in the Ministry of Development, Labour and Technology (MDLT) in order to support the participation of the Polish defence industry in the process of applying for financial aid from its budget of almost 8 bn EUR.

'The strategic autonomy policy opens the way to the reconstruction, reinforcement of competitiveness and resilience of European economy after the pandemic,’ said the Vice-Minister of Development, Labour and Technology Marek Niedużak during the Monday meeting of the EU’s COMPET Competitiveness Council. The participants agreed that the unified market without barriers, particularly in cross-border traffic and services, is one of the instruments to achieve the strategic autonomy of the EU’s economy.

Preliminary data for January 2021 show that our trade turnover with New Zealand has increased by 48% y/y. The Deputy Minister for Development, Labour and Technology Robert Tomanek and the Ambassador of New Zealand in Poland Mary Thurston talked about the further expansion of mutual business co-operation.

'If we want to switch to clean energy in Europe, the development and production of batteries should be our strategic goals. I am happy that Poland plays an important role in this process,’ said Prime Minister Jarosław Gowin during the 5th high level meeting of the European Battery Alliance attended by European commissioners, ministers of economy of EU Member States and representatives of the European Investment Bank.
