Poland declares willingness to cooperate to support innovative projects in the field of health IPCEI

03.03.2022

Under-Secretary of State Mariusz Jerzy Golecki signed a declaration of cooperation concerning the HEALTH IPCEI project during a conference held under the French Presidency of the EU Council. Thanks to this, Poland will continue to actively participate in work aimed at implementing projects of common European interest (IPCEI) in the area of health.

Deputy minister Jerzy Golecki signing a docyment

International cooperation within the Health IPCEI is another important step towards making the European pharmaceutical market independent. The situation of disruption in supply chains has brought the work on strategic autonomy in the area of health up to speed. The French Presidency should be thanked for its commitment to this important project. It should be remembered that Health IPCEI is a great opportunity for domestic innovative companies, which will be able to receive much needed support for, among others, conducting research on new medicines, modernisation and - increasingly important in the current conditions - readiness for health crises.

 - said Deputy Minister Mariusz Jerzy Golecki.

According to the text of the signed declaration and negotiations conducted so far, in which Poland actively participated, the planned thematic scope of projects includes:

  • innovative and pro-ecological technologies and processes for the production of medicinal products;
  • innovation in the field of antimicrobial resistance and rare diseases, as well as challenges in the field of emerging health threats;
  • development of cell and gene therapies, including production processes and technologies

and, thanks to the efforts of Poland

  • projects on digital health solutions, medical devices and medtech.

The Ministry of Economic Development and Technology will actively pursue further work in this area, the results of which we will inform on
