The visit of HM King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and HM Queen Silvia, held under the theme ‘Stronger Together’, aims to deepen business relations and expand cooperation in priority areas.

The conference was also attended by a delegation of more than 60 Swedish companies operating in the defence, dual-use and energy sectors.

We can learn from Sweden about long-term thinking in innovation policy, building mature innovation ecosystems and fostering effective cooperation between science and business. Poland, in turn, has a dynamic approach to development, proven resilience to global challenges and a wealth of scientific talent

– said Minister Andrzej Domański.

The event included a panel on cooperation between business, academia and government, demonstrating how innovation strengthens competitiveness and how – with support from the state and universities – large companies and SMEs can mutually drive growth within the innovation ecosystems of Poland and Sweden.

Discussions also focused on attracting talent and on how, in the spirit of ‘Stronger Together’, to enhance competitiveness for sustainable growth in both countries and across the European Union.

Poland sees an opportunity to bring together VC and CVC funds from Poland and Sweden to establish joint investment programmes targeting Polish deep-tech and dual-use start-ups. Programmes such as Innovate Poland are designed to stimulate precisely this type of cooperation by mobilising public and private capital and enabling international investment partnerships

– said Minister Domański.

Minister Andrzej Domański also took part in the Polish-Swedish Capital Investment Roundtable at the Warsaw Stock Exchange, devoted to investment and capital market dynamics in Poland and Sweden, as well as strengthening bilateral competitiveness.

This is one of the largest foreign delegations of Swedish businesses in history. It confirms that, thanks to its strong commitment to innovation, security and sustainable growth, Poland is one of Europe’s fastest-growing markets and an increasingly important partner for Sweden in competitiveness, resilience, the development of value chains and investment.
