There is no peace and security without the participation of women

31 October 2020 marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the first Resolution on Women, Peace and Security by the United Nations Security Council. Resolution 1325 is a milestone in the development of a set of tools to enhance the engagement of women in the prevention and solution of military crises as well as peace-building processes, all parts of UN Agenda in this area.

Poland actively participates in the implementation of the WPS Agenda by following the three-year National Action Plan adopted in 2018. The efforts made by ministries and their subordinate uniformed services focus mainly on the promotion of the WPS Agenda in Poland and across international organisations, enhancement of women’s participation in broadly understood security sector as well as their engagement in foreign missions, trainings and the implementation of the Agenda under development assistance and humanitarian aid.
