Action plan signed for implementing Polish–Japanese strategic partnership

The meeting between Minister Sikorski and Minister for Foreign Affairs Takeshi Iwaya of Japan concluded with the signing of the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Polish¬¬¬–Japanese Strategic Partnership until 2029.

Minister Radosław Sikorski's visit to Japan

Talks focused on bilateral cooperation, including the preparation of agreements on social security, mutual protection of classified information, and cooperation between space agencies.

The ministers discussed opportunities for collaboration in defence industry, nuclear energy, developing transport infrastructure, and the sale of agri-food products. 

Ministers Sikorski and Iwaya also discussed preparations for Expo 2025, defence and agri-food trade fairs, and the planned autumn visit of Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

During a working dinner, the ministers spoke about the prospects for peace in Ukraine and the situation in the Pacific following the change of US administration.

Minister Iwaya declared that Japan’s policy on Ukraine remains unchanged as the country is committed to a lasting and just peace in Ukraine.
