The Department manages and coordinates matters related to the Republic of Poland’s European Union membership with regard to:

• participation of Republic of Poland representatives in the meetings of the European Council and the General Affairs Council, including coordinating preparations and developing policy materials, as well as providing support to Republic of Poland representatives participating in the meetings;
• participation of government bodies in the work of the EU, in particular the Council of the European Union and the Committee of Permanent Representatives;
•  work of the Committee for European Affairs;
• implementation of the Act of 8 October 2010 on cooperation between the Council of Ministers and the President of the Republic of Poland, as well as the Sejm and Senate, in matters related to the Republic of Poland’s European Union membership.

The Department performs tasks related to cooperation with the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the European Union.
